Il percorso
One of the most captivating aspects of the Sinis Peninsula is undeniably the city of Tharros, which, over the millennia of its rich history, has witnessed moments of great prosperity. This is evident from the remains of an ancient port and substantial urban development, particularly during the Roman era.

The city still retains ancient fortifications predating the Roman period, a substantial Phoenician-Punic necropolis concealed by vegetation, and traces of the Nuragic civilization, a constant presence in our region.

Exploring Tharros from a kayak offers a unique perspective, as the true beauty of this archaeological site is best appreciated from the sea. We will uncover a lesser-known and mysterious section of Tharros.

We will provide you with state-of-the-art kayaks, which are high-performing and easy to handle. Our route takes us through the Gulf of Oristano, sheltered from the Mistral wind, providing calm waters akin to a serene lake.

During the excursion, we'll make a brief stop for an on-land adventure. We'll leave the canoes at an archaeological site and take a short walk. We'll traverse the land isthmus of the Sinis Peninsula to reach another beach, sometimes with choppy waters. Here, you can take a refreshing swim or simply admire the beauty of nature.

The spectacle that awaits us is the juxtaposition of two seas—one tranquil and the other tumultuous: the "dead sea," sheltered from the winds, and the "living sea," exposed to the Mistral.

After this short break, the excitement continues as we head towards the cove of the dolphins. Occasionally, a family of dolphins comes here to feed. If we're extremely fortunate, we may catch a glimpse of them, although they tend to be wary of human presence.

From the cove, we'll make our way back, but not before indulging in a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Sinis.
