We will leave Mandriola, the fishermen's village, where you can still find fresh fish. We will cross the coast, on paths in the middle of the Mediterranean scrub, looking at the beauty of the sea. In the distance, you can see the island of Malu Entu, "bad wind" in Sardinian.
The seabed in front of the coast of Capo Mannu has a natural conformation, a "step" of rock, after the deep seabed, which causes the waves to rise when there is a mistral wind. On suitable days, the waves are ridden by surfers! Sometimes they are seen flying kitesurf, how brave they are!
The coast of Capo Mannu also hides numerous wrecks, especially Roman ones, in its depths. Some pieces of these ancient wrecks are transported by the currents arriving at Is arenas, a few meters from the beach.
In particular, the Malu Entu Island is known for its danger, and its victims are many, even in recent times, as evidenced by the late 19th-century steamer, sunk with all its curious cargo: toilets and bathroom fixtures route continues, passing Capo Mannu, towards an old, still functioning lighthouse. Here comes one of the most exciting moments of the itinerary: the Spanish tower, still standing on a cliff, the view is fabulous! You get to see all the west coast, up to Bosa and Alghero.
A little break, before resuming the journey towards Sa Mesa Longa. An uncontaminated beach, protected by a large rock "table", which keeps the sea always calm and peaceful. In fact, Sa Mesa Longa means "the long table". It looks like a natural pool, surrounded by sandstone and an area behind the dunes of extremophile plants, capable of growing in the sand.
Whoever wants, can have a bath, enjoy the crystal water and calm sea.
From Sa Mesa Longa we will go back, with a round trip. In Mandriola we will sit under a grove of mimosas to taste a delicious snack.
